Jarrett Lipman is the Director of Bands at Claudia Taylor “Lady Bird” Johnson High School in San Antonio, Texas.  At Johnson, Lipman directs the Marching Band, co-conducts the Wind Ensemble, and assists with the Symphony Band, Concert Bands, and Jazz Ensembles. Alan Sharps Alan Sharps

Associate Director of Bands


Alan Sharps is entering his ninth year as a band director at Claudia Taylor Johnson. He co-conducts the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds and is the director of the school's outstanding Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo. In addition to his regular instruction duties with the marching band, he oversees all of the technical and electronics aspects of the band program. Sharps has an extensive musical background in Florida and Virginia, and spent 11 years at Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio before coming to Johnson. He's also known for teaching at least one mega-superstar singer-rapper-record producer. READ  MORE

Robert LozanoRobert Lozano

Assistant Band Director, Symphony Band
Percussion Director


Robert Lozano is entering his first year an Assistant Band Director and Percussion Director at Claudia Taylor Johnson High School. Mr. Lozano graduated from Winston Churchill High School and went to the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT, Mr. Lozano studied under the direction of world class percussion instructors Thomas Burritt and Tony Edwards, as well as conductors Robert Carnochan and Jerry Junkin. READ MORE

Dan MusacchioDan Musacchio
Assistant Band Director / Orchestra Director

Mr. Dan Musacchio is entering his first year as an Assistant Band Director and Assistant Orchestra Director at Claudia Taylor Johnson High School. He will work with the non-varsity bands and orchestras at Johnson, assist with the full orchestra, and assist with the marching band. Mr. Musacchio recently served as the Orchestra Director at Bridgewater-Raritan High School in Bridgewater, N.J. READ MORE

Darryl Pemberton Darryl Pemberton

Colorguard Director


Darryl Pemberton is the Visual Designer and Color Guard director for the Claudia Taylor Johnson High School Band. In his time at Johnson, Pemberton has led the Johnson Color Guard to numerous medals in the Texas Colorguard Championship circuit, Johnson Color Guard is also a multiple WGI finalist, winning first place in Scholastic World at the WGI Southwestern Colorguard Championship in 2015 and earning the Silver Medal in the Scholastic Open Class in 2013.  Check out the other stops in Pemberton’s career as an accomplished Visual Technican and Caption Head. Kris Hartman Kris Hartman

Assistant Band Director, Percussion Studies  


Kris Hartman is the Associate Percussion Director/Assistant Band Director/Arranger for Claudia Taylor Johnson High School and Frank M. Tejeda Middle School in San Antonio. Since the opening of Johnson High School in 2008-09, Mr. Hartman has been an integral part of building the percussion program from grades 6 through 12 as well as the development of the marching program.
